We know down comforters are considered the finest bedding in the world. When you see a bed adorned with a thick down feather bed, puffy down pillows and a soft down comforter, you can’t wait to dive in. The welcoming feel of down bedding is unsurpassed by any other. The Federal Trade Commission determines what criteria makes down bedding labeled as “down”. To qualify as down bedding, a comforter must contain at least 75 percent down. The other 25 percent can be down, feather fiber and feathers that are about 3 cm to 6 cm in size. This level of actual down ensures the bedding is comfortable and insular so you are warm when it’s cool out and cooler when it’s hot out.
If you’re allergic to down bedding, consider a down alternative comforter. Alternative down bedding provides the same level of comfort without the allergans.
